When reading these chapters in “They Say, I Say” I really appreciate and find the templates extremely helpful, the one that stuck out to me this time was the one about Introducing something implied or assumed. This template helps make you think analytically and think beyond what others are saying and what else to consider when writing about them. I also think back to one of the first parts we read of this book and it talked about how it isn’t here to lecture about how to be a good writer and what people do wrong it’s here to help new writers and show them how to correctly writing things. I think sometimes new writers tend to not know how to go about introducing quotes or how to start the next thing that they want to talk about, and how to give enough credit on things that need to be credited on. They Say I Say point is also to always stay on topic and stayed focused on the points you made in your first paragraph and to give enough explanation about it and contrast your points but also don’t get too off-topic. The last thing that stood out to me is giving the other person credit and saying “They say” rather than always talking about your feelings and what your opinions are on it.
