As I think about writing I think back to all the assignments in high school and middle school. My writing I feel like it is getting better, I have written multiple essays I personally like writing without a prompt but when I have a prompt I sometimes struggle on how I want to go about it and write it. I feel like I struggle with grammar and punctuation, when I was in High School we had to do peer editing on most of our papers. We would have to write up a draft and then once that was done we would have to go back and read what the peer wrote and use their suggestions to fix our papers. The process I had with the writing was when I could pick my own topic I was eager to get settled down and write all about it, but when given a prompt I felt as if I might’ve taken a slower drive on trying to get the essay done. Once the draft was done and someone peer-edited it, I would go back and revise it, I actually took a lot of time on this part because someone else has taken the time to look at my writing, I would look at and fix the things they have suggested for me but I also would reread my writing and see if any parts are missing detail or needs less detail. I would go through paragraph to paragraph and reread it, I also would use online paper rater to see if there was any extra help I could get to fix my writing. Lastly, one thing that always bothered me was when I had a prompt I was more likely to get writer’s block and not be able to think of where I wanted my writing to go next. I also think it helps me to read out loud to people to catch my mistakes.
