The article “Memories of Past Meals” was very different but very relatable. I liked how they gave you the paragraph about the picture, with them explaining what it meant and what that memory held. Seeing the pictures it showed the true meaning of the dish, it also showed the emotion it truly captured it in picture one with the guys making the crepes in the lab they all looked so happy to be making that dish. These foods were very simple, none of them are that difficult to make and that’s what stood out to me something as simple as peanut butter and fluff or crepes have so much meaning to people and they can look back and have those memories with that food. What I was wondering though this article though was where did these foods and people come up with these stories how were they picked, and the big thing that stood out to me was why did the person act like they didn’t like the pudding and came up with all these excuses not to try it and than once the mother left they tried it again and loved it but then once the mother returned they spit it out and acted as if they hated it? They also mention how they try to make the pudding over and over and it never is as good. Why wouldn’t they just say they like the pudding and get the recipe so that it can be a traditional dish and stay in the family?
